Air Conditioning and Power Upgrade
ITE have handed over the next phase of the Iomart data centre upgrade in Maidenhead.
The upgrade has facilitated the support of over 300 additional racks within the three data halls and included new power distribution units and close control inverter drive air handling units.
The air handling units were chosen for their efficiency and have enabled significant cost savings to be made when installed on some of our other sites, most recently at the Kingfisher / B&Q data centre in Fareham.
An additional 1200kVA of UPS power was installed in an A & B configuration giving a two separate UPS supported power paths to feed the power distribution units and dual feed racks.
The building monitoring system was extended to include the new data halls and monitors temperature, humidity, power used and panel failure.
VESDA early warning smoke detection was installed within the data halls with Pro Inert fire suppression and hot / cold aisle smoke detection.
The initial build was completed in 2009 with the design
The initial design allowed the data centre to be upgraded in stages as demand increased.
